Scope of Position
A global leader in the aerospace manufacturing industry is seeking a Group Controller to lead a high-performing finance team and drive strategic financial planning across international operations. This individual will report directly to the Group Vice President of Finance and Business Management and play a key role in ensuring the quality, compliance, and strategic alignment of all accounting and financial reporting functions across the commercial group.
Responsibilities
- Oversee global accounting and finance functions, including analysts, pricing, and site finance operations.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Review and analyze financial statements and ensure US GAAP compliance across all business units.
- Own and enforce group accounting policies and internal controls.
- Design and implement process improvements that enhance financial transparency, especially in sales, margins, and working capital.
- Collaborate on commercial business model development and strategic investments.
- Provide leadership with actionable financial insights—clearly explain trends, develop decision-support analysis, and recommend strategic actions.
- Deliver tailored financial reports and KPIs to align with the varying maturity of business segments.
- Support financial planning for pricing, costing, quoting, and contract negotiations.
- Ensure proper ledger maintenance, internal audit support, and regulatory compliance.
- Work closely with external auditors and support audit processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- CPA certification.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or operations, ideally within aerospace or manufacturing.
- At least 2 years in a finance leadership or management role.
- Strong experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
- Proficiency in US GAAP, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- Skilled in financial modeling and data storytelling.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced business/finance degree.
- SAP and/or OneStream experience.
- 4+ years of public accounting experience (preferably with a Big 4 firm).
- Deep understanding of aerospace or high-tech manufacturing environments.
