We are supporting a leading media agency to find a Strategic Director to be the day to day strategic lead on media strategy across four iconic brands that have a huge footprint in sport and entertainment.

 

As Strategy Director, you will have a central role in shaping how these brands show up, think, plan and communicate across some of the most watched moments in the UK.

 

This is a senior strategic position where your ideas will guide annual planning, influence high-profile campaigns and shape the direction of sponsorship activity. You will work closely with planning, buying, insights, data and creative teams, making sure everything lines up from the first thought to the final execution.

What you will be doing

  • Leading strategy across a major UK brand portfolio with strong links to sport and entertainment
  • Setting the direction for annual planning, campaigns and sponsorships
  • Using audience insight, cultural trends and data to shape clear, practical recommendations
  • Working closely with planning, marketing science, creative and buying teams
  • Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and becoming a key strategic partner
  • Turning open or complex briefs into focused, actionable plans
  • Supporting new business pitches and contributing to wider agency projects
  • Keeping up with media behaviour, effectiveness thinking and emerging technology

 

What you need

  • Solid background in brand, comms or media strategy
  • Confidence working at pace and handling quick turnarounds
  • Good understanding of media effectiveness and measurement
  • Clear and confident communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience working with senior-level clients and stakeholders
  • Interest in sport or culturally relevant brands
  • Familiarity with audience tools such as TGI
  • Curiosity about how AI and automation can improve how teams work and perform
