The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for delivering both strategic and tactical HR support for Miller Fabrication Solutions’ approximately 400 employees across 4 manufacturing locations. This position will partner closely with operations, supervisors, and employees to drive engagement, ensure compliance, and support a high-performance workforce. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Director.



Responsibilities:

  • Under the direction of the HR Director, executes the organization’s People Strategy, particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, employee relations, training, performance management and compliance.
  • Partners with plant and departmental leadership to align HR practices with operational priorities.
  • Directly supervisors HR Generalists, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Promoted a strong safety culture through close collaboration with the Health & Safety team and compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Builds trust and engagement with frontline employees through consistent floor presence and open communication.
  • Uses HR data and metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants; collaborates with Recruiter and hiring managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience (preferably in manufacturing).
  • Demonstrated experience in multi-plant operations is a plus.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws. Ensures all HR policies are met without losing sight of employee engagement.
  • Demonstrated success in employee relations, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to travel between plant locations, as needed. Limited overnight travel may be required (less than 10%).
