SUMMARY

The Project Engineer is a member of the engineering team developing highly sophisticated semiconductor gas abatement equipment. This includes wet scrubbing and advanced thermal destruction technologies of pollutant gases. Experience in the development and sustaining of chemical/mechanical processing equipment would be of interest. You will be an integral member of a collaborative team that defines and develops scrubbing and thermal solutions from concept through production, working with a cross functional Product Development, Sales, Manufacturing and Field Service Engineering Team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, proven mechanical/chemical analysis, design and validation engineering background, with some experience in Design for Manufacturing. A full product life cycle experience in semiconductor gas abatement equipment is a plus.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work from marketing specifications developing new product and product enhancements
  • Research chemical and mechanical properties of materials and systems
  • Investigate and specify materials suitable for the design
  • Conduct basic fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer calculations to evaluate design concepts
  • Conduct hands-on laboratory and pilot experiments as part of product engineering and design validation testing, and troubleshooting
  • Work with customers and sales to investigate and solve problems
  • Develop project budget & schedule.
  • Utilize SolidWorks and CAD software to generate designs and drawings
  • Organize design reviews for his/her project
  • Develop documentation release packages for manufacturing introduction
  • Develop manufacturing plans and field procedures
  • Train manufacturing final test technicians and field service engineers on new products and procedures
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot difficult issues on equipment
  • Travel to customer sites to install and bring up beta test systems

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Mechanical design and demonstrated proficiency in the use of CAD tools, experience with Solid Works is a plus
  • Experience with systems design and integration of chemical process components with mechanical and electronic components, knowledge of PLC is a plus
  • Good understating of materials and their applications
  • Ability to conduct basic fluid flow and heat transfer calculations to design and select pumps, pipes, valves, actuators, heaters, insulators and other parts and process systems
  • Experience with flow, pressure and thermal measurements sensors and data acquisition
  • Experience with product development and worldwide launch
  • Organized and capable of handling multiple projects
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Disciplined, levelheaded and cool under pressure
  • Has a strong can-do attitude with a strong desire to fit in and be part of a team. Works well with people at all levels within the organization.
  • Has an inquisitive nature but driven to accomplish. Can see the total challenge and yet pay attention to important details.


EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical engineering or any related field preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in process and/or product R&D
