About the Role
Our client is seeking a Technical Project Manager to support a high-visibility, enterprise-wide broadcast technology transformation. This is a hands-on, execution-focused PM role, not a coordination position.
The ideal candidate will own technical project workstreams, partner closely with engineering teams, and drive delivery across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
This role requires someone who is very comfortable with technology, can manage dependencies across systems and teams, and can communicate clearly with executive stakeholders (VP/SVP level). This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and hybrid/on-site environment where strong ownership, structure, and accountability are critical to success.
Key Responsibilities
• Own and drive end-to-end project execution across assigned technical workstreams
• Build and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and risk logs
• Partner closely with engineering teams to understand technical requirements, timelines, and constraints
• Manage cross-functional coordination across engineering, product, vendors, and business stakeholders
• Lead meetings, stand-ups, and status updates — driving decisions and accountability (not just attending)
• Deliver clear, concise executive-level updates (VP/SVP audience) on progress, risks, and next steps
• Proactively identify and resolve risks, blockers, and dependencies
• Support technology implementations, system rollouts, and broadcast-related initiatives
• Ensure strong alignment and communication across all teams and workstreams
• Maintain structured PM processes (planning, tracking, reporting, execution)
Required Qualifications
• 3–10+ years of Project Management experience in Media, Technology or broadcast (must show ownership, not just coordination)
• Background in media, broadcast, entertainment, or technology environments (broadcast strongly preferred)
• Experience managing technical or technology-driven projects
• Experience working closely with engineering teams and technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end — planning, execution, risk management, delivery
• Experience presenting to and working with executive stakeholders (VP/SVP level)
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and external vendors
• High level of comfort with technology — able to understand systems, dependencies, and technical workflows
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, MS Project, etc.)
• Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience building dashboards, reports, and executive presentations
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
• Must be local to NYC and comfortable working onsite (3–5 days/week)
• Demonstrated stability and interest in long-term opportunities
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in a technical PM or program management role
• Consulting background (nice to have)
• PMP, CAPM, or Agile certifications
• Experience supporting enterprise-level transformations or system implementations
Soft Skills & Core Competencies
• Strong ownership mindset — leads and drives projects, not just supports
• Technically curious and adaptable — comfortable learning new systems and tools
• Structured thinker — strong in planning, organization, and execution
• Excellent communicator — able to engage with both technical teams and executives
• Proactive and solutions-oriented — anticipates issues and drives resolution
• Highly collaborative — thrives in fast-paced, team-oriented environments
• Professional and polished — comfortable in executive-facing settings
