Position Summary

As BoujieMana’s Sous Chef, you are the right hand leading the culinary team with BoujieMana! All things relating to the culinary experience require your touch—from support with menu creation and execution, to planning and quality control. You will assist in fulfilling our goals by curating the items needed to bring our beautiful menu to life and delight customers in every way. You will help be responsible for BoujieMana’s back-of-house staff, who support the execution of the culinary experience you have assisted in creating. You will design beautiful presentations that exemplify our values!

Key Responsibilities
- Execute and uphold all dishes to BoujieMana standards
- Support Executive Chef in prep management, service, and daily operations
- Lead BOH team during service, expediting when needed
- Help develop, test, and refine seasonal menu items
- Ensure recipe consistency and update internal documentation (photo guides, plating standards)
- Train new hires and support ongoing BOH education
- Collaborate on events: tastings, private dinners, seasonal pop-ups
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, safety, and health protocols
- Provide input on food cost, inventory, and vendor relations
- Be a role model — reliable, creative, and detail-oriented
- Roll up your sleeves! We are a hands-on establishment, and we work together to meet our goals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 5 years of culinary experience, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar Sous Chef role
- Outstanding management skills, as well as experience leading, inspiring, and building a team
- Ability to meet all safety and sanitation requirements within the kitchen
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly skilled in maintaining a positive, professional, team-oriented demeanor, especially under stress
- Hands-on attitude, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Current Food Handlers Certification
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays required
- Ability to stand, kneel, and squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including the entire shift
- Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs.
