Essentra Components is a global market leader in plastic injection molded, vinyl dip molded and metal components. We have a history of over 65 years, producing essential components across a huge range of industries and applications. We supply low cost components used by manufacturing companies in their manufacturing process. Our primary target is B2B Manufacturers i.e. companies who build products used by other manufacturing companies.

 

Our Monterrey facility, built to Essentra’s design, occupies a site of more than 400,000sq ft with a further 25,000sq ft of land with permission for future development. The new facility (occupied in the fall of 2023) is part of an ongoing investment by Essentra to further extend its global manufacturing footprint to reflect the increasingly multinational needs of customers who need to be reassured of the quality of the product, consistency of service and timeliness of delivery wherever they are in the world.


We are currently hiring a Manufacturing Engineer for our Monterrey site. The manufacturing engineer is responsible for creating, developing, and implementing efficient manufacturing systems, reducing costs while maintaining standards of operations. Ensure efficient work and part flow, meeting deadlines, maintaining quality and safety standards. This position reports directly to the Production Manager. 


Key Job Responsibilities:


  • Track production costs, identify areas for cost reduction, and lead efforts to materialize improvements. Eliminate MUDA.
  • Look for Essentra Cost Savings (ECS) and implement when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Actively participate in the planning and implementation of CAPEX programs. Report results of implemented programs as required.
  • Analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Lead and/or actively participate in transfer projects.
  • Champion 5S and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Participate in Essentra sustainability programs.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
  • Work closely with other departments (production, planning, procurement) to ensure smooth production operations and meet customer requirements.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement teams across all company locations.
  • Keep the site’s layout updated.
  • Perform other related job duties as assigned.


Skills and Experience:


  • 4-year degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • In depth understanding manufacturing operations and methods associated with the repetitive manufacturing of small, high volume, close-tolerance injection molded parts and light assembly.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and 14001 certification requirements.
  • Continuous improvement and lean manufacturing knowledge and experience.
  • Excellent problem solving and reasoning ability.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Team player and motivated for self-improvement.
  • Experience with process and product transfers, preferably from outside México.
  • Ability to design work stations, work instructions, and visual aids.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and be adaptable/flexible.
  • Project management skills.
  • Fully bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Lean Six Sigma training is preferable.
