Location: Remote - Midwest

Travel: Up to 40% (primarily domestic throughout the Midwest)

Compensation: $111,000 – $194,250 base + 30% uncapped variable incentive (OTE example: $110K base = $157K target)

Summary:

A global leader in optical technologies is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to support and grow its key accounts across the Central U.S. and Rockies region. This remote position plays a critical role in managing existing relationships while developing new business in data center, telecom, and hyperscale markets. The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of experience in telecom/fiber optics and a technical mindset to deeply understand complex products and customer needs.

This is a strategic and hands-on role—focused equally on relationship management, technical sales leadership, and revenue growth. You’ll be interfacing directly with OEMs, hyperscalers, carriers, and system integrators, ensuring alignment between customer roadmaps and product strategy.


What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute a regional revenue growth strategy across optical transceivers and networking modules
  • Serve as the technical and commercial point of contact for key accounts across your territory
  • Lead price/share negotiations and manage contracts in coordination with legal
  • Monitor backlog, inventory, shipments, and quality issues to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities in data center, OEM, enterprise, and service provider sectors
  • Track competitors and gather market intelligence across the territory
  • Maintain regular, well-documented communication with customers at all levels
  • Guide and support customer-specific customization projects (mini-PIP process)
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and CRM documentation


What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or similar technical field
  • 15+ years of sales and territory management experience, preferably in fiber optics, optical networking, or telecom
  • Strong technical aptitude—must understand and speak fluently about optical modules and telecom solutions
  • Proven success in key account management and OEM/enterprise relationships
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through skills
  • Professional, team-oriented, and solutions-focused approach
  • Experience with VARs, data centers, MSOs, and system integrators a plus
  • MBA is a plus


Additional Info

  • This is a full-time remote role, based anywhere in the Midwest (IL, CO, KS preferred)
  • Up to 40% domestic travel is expected
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
