Technical Account Manager – Capital Equipment (Remote, Central U.S.)

We are a leading U.S.-based manufacturer specializing in advanced industrial equipment, seeking a results-driven Technical Account Manager to join our team.

This is a remote position, and candidates ideally should reside in/near one of the following cities, each with convenient access to a major airport:


  • Fort Worth, TX
  • Dallas, TX
  • Austin, TX


This role involves managing and growing a portfolio of industrial clients by providing tailored technical solutions in UV curing, Arch Lamp, Micro, and LED technologies.

Candidates should have experience in technical or capital equipment sales, a solid technical foundation, and a consultative, solutions-based sales approach.


Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Growth: Cultivate existing accounts and develop new business opportunities.
  • Consultative Selling: Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the territory.
  • Customer Engagement: Conduct virtual and on-site visits to assess customer needs and present appropriate technical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, service, and internal sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • CRM Management: Manage sales pipeline, input all activities into CRM software, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Industry Representation: Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
  • Professional Presence: Maintain a polished, professional presence.


Sales Focus

  • Farming (75%): Primary focus on nurturing and expanding long-term client relationships.
  • Hunting (25%): Identifying and converting new sales opportunities within the assigned region.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in technical or industrial equipment sales.
  • Strong grasp of solution-based selling techniques and ROI analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to customers.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of independently managing a multi-state territory.
  • CRM experience (ACT!, Salesforce, or GreenRope preferred).
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40–55% to client sites and events.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience with UV curing systems, Arch Lamp, Micro, or LED technologies.
  • Sales training certifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with capital equipment and OEM sales cycles.
  • Experience with SPIN Selling methodology is preferred but not required.


Education

  • Associates, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience in technical sales or the industrial equipment industry will be considered in lieu of a degree.
