Position: Manual Turner

Location: Cheltenham

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Up to £44,000 DOE

Hours: 43 hours per week (Day Shift)

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Manual Turner to join a reputable manufacturing business in Cheltenham. This is an excellent opportunity for a Manual Turner who enjoys working on varied, small batch and prototype work, where precision and craftsmanship are highly valued.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual lathes to produce precision components
  • Work from detailed engineering drawings to tight tolerances
  • Manufacture small to medium-sized components for batch and prototype work
  • Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for different materials
  • Carry out self-inspection using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
  • Maintain a high standard of quality and accuracy throughout production


The Person:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience working as a Manual Turner
  • Strong experience in manual turning within a precision engineering environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is essential
  • Experience working on small batch or prototype work (important due to low-volume production environment)
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components
