About Radix Health
Radix Health is on a mission to make healthcare reimbursement fairer and more transparent for healthcare providers. Think of us as the team helping physicians like emergency care doctors get properly reimbursed while keeping patients out of billing limbo, all while navigating the tricky waters of the No Surprises Act (yes, the NSA, just not the government agency đ).
Weâre hiring a Data Engineer II to partner closely with our Lead Data Engineers on building and maintaining the pipelines and systems that power Radix. Our Data Engineering team turns messy, complex healthcare data into the insights and infrastructure that drive the business. From processing claims and CMS data to enabling automatic offer generation, youâll help ensure our customers get accurate, actionable information exactly when they need it. Your work will directly support Ops, Engineering and Product teams, shaping how we deliver value and transform healthcare reimbursement every day.
If you enjoy solving complex, ambiguous problems and seeing the impact of your work in real time, this is the role for you.
What Youâll Do
-
Build and maintain production data pipelines: Work with claims, NPI, CMS, and other healthcare datasets to ensure reliable, reproducible, and scalable ingestion pipelines. Youâll tackle messy and undefined data with curiosity, creativity, and a problem-solving mindset.
-
Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Ops, Analytics, and Engineering teams to turn ambiguous business questions into actionable solutions. Youâll need to ask great questions and tease out what the business really needs.
-
Onboard new data sources: As we expand our offerings, youâll take new sources from raw files to production-ready pipelines, thinking carefully about structure, testing, and resiliency.
-
Improve pipeline reliability and observability: Implement monitoring, logging, and error handling to make our data ingestion processes more robust and less error-prone. Youâll proactively identify gaps and propose solutions.
-
Document, test, and review: Write clean, maintainable code in Python and SQL, and participate in code reviews, sharing knowledge and learning from teammates. Your work will set the standard for quality and reliability across the team.
-
Influence how data powers the business: Contribute to projects that directly impact Radixâs offerings â from automatic offer generation to transparency dashboards â and see the tangible effect of your work on healthcare providers and patients.
Who You Are
- Bachelorâs degree in STEM preferred (additional experience in lieu of a degree is also accepted)
- Production experience with Python, building scalable, reliable systems.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational or analytical databases.
- Cloud Infrastructure experience (GCP preferred)
- Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with DBT, BigQuery, Redshift, or Athena is a plus.
- Curiosity, problem-solving mindset, and ability to translate ambiguous requirements into actionable solutions.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
Why Youâll Love Working Here
-
Direct impact: Your work directly shapes how Radix serves healthcare providers, enabling faster, more accurate reimbursements.
-
Early-stage growth: Youâll help define our data engineering culture, processes, and systems â your contributions will scale with the company.
-
Collaborative, low-ego culture: Work closely with Ops, Analytics, and Engineering in a transparent, supportive environment.
-
Hybrid flexibility: Offices in LA or NY, plus remote flexibility, so you can collaborate in person or focus deeply when needed.
