Title: Technical Project Manager, Analytics
Location: New York City (preference) or Santa Monica (hybrid)
Reports To: Director of Client Success
About the Company
Healthcare reimbursement is broken—too complex, too opaque, and too often unfair to the providers delivering care and the patients receiving it. Pivotal Health exists to fix that.
We build technology that helps hospital-based providers get paid fairly for the care they provide, while protecting patients from surprise medical bills. Our platform guides providers through the highly complex No Surprises Act dispute process, turning what was once manual, risky, and inconsistent into a structured, data-driven workflow.
With a rapidly growing customer base, strong revenue momentum, and a mission rooted in fairness and transparency, Pivotal is helping modernize one of healthcare’s most critical—and overlooked—systems.
About the Role
Pivotal Health is looking for a Technical Project Manager to support the technical and analytical foundation of our client partnerships. This role sits at the intersection of data, implementation, and internal project coordination. You will manage a portfolio of healthcare provider accounts ensuring successful onboarding, accurate data integrations, and ongoing performance monitoring. You will investigate discrepancies, analyze trends, and surface insights that help drive better outcomes for clients and internal teams.
This is not a traditional client-facing success role. While you may join client calls, you will not lead them. Instead, you will serve as the technical expert behind the scenes—digging into SQL queries, resolving fee or data issues, and building scalable workflows as the first hire focused on this function.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys solving complex data problems, and can operate independently while supporting a high volume of client activity.
What You’ll Do
- Own technical implementation and onboarding for new clients, including setting up data feeds, confirming eligibility criteria, and collecting required onboarding information.
- Monitor client performance, health, and key metrics to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Investigate data discrepancies, fee-related issues, and performance questions by digging into reporting systems and SQL queries.
- Run analytics and generate reports to support internal decision-making and client strategy.
- Manage a portfolio of 10–25 accounts within pod and territory structures, prioritizing effectively across competing demands.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Client Success to resolve issues and improve workflows.
- Support client calls when needed, serving as the technical expert, without owning or leading the relationship.
- Build and refine internal processes, documentation, and workflows to improve clarity and efficiency across teams.
- Leverage and optimize tools such as SQL, Tableau, BigQuery, Metabase, HubSpot, and Asana to improve reporting accuracy and visibility.
- Help shape how implementation and analytics efforts scale as Pivotal continues to grow.
What We’re Looking For
- 3–7 years of experience in technical project management, analytics, implementation, or similar roles within B2B SaaS, healthcare technology, or healthcare systems.
- Strong SQL proficiency and experience working with BI tools such as Tableau; familiarity with BigQuery or Metabase is a plus.
- Experience supporting technical implementations, onboarding workflows, or data integrations.
- Healthcare systems experience required; familiarity with IDR, revenue cycle management, payer negotiations, or related reimbursement workflows is strongly preferred.
- Ability to independently manage multiple workstreams and support a high volume of client activity without requiring heavy structure or predefined processes.
- Strong analytical and investigative mindset, with the ability to identify root causes and translate data into actionable insights.
- Highly organized and capable of managing priorities across pods and territories.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships while not being the primary account owner.
- Experience with HubSpot is a plus but not required.
- Experience with Asana is a plus but similar project management tool experience is acceptable
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building structure where none currently exists.
