We’re working with a leading B2B publishing business that produces some of the most respected international titles in the fire and safety sectors. Their team continues to grow and thrive thanks to their consistent investment in traditional publishing and events, even at a time when others are scaling back.

They’re looking for a Senior Editor to lead flagship publications, guide a talented team of editors, and represent the business at key global events. This is a rare chance to join a well-run, stable company with a clear commitment to quality, growth, and staff development.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for two market-leading monthly publications, covering the international fire and safety industries. The role combines editorial leadership, hands-on content production, and strategic input at board level.

You’ll also mentor and support a team of 8–9 editors, fostering collaboration and ensuring consistently high standards of content. In addition, you’ll play a visible role at international industry events, conferences, and exhibitions, helping shape programmes, chairing sessions, and representing the brand to a global audience.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Oversee content creation and editorial planning for two established monthly B2B titles.
• Act as a senior authority within the editorial team, maintaining quality control and consistency across all output.
• Mentor and support junior and mid-level editors, providing a credible and approachable point of guidance.
• Represent the editorial team at board meetings and work closely with senior colleagues in sales, marketing, and production.
• Help develop and deliver successful conferences and exhibitions, contributing to content and hosting.
• Travel internationally 3–4 times a year to major industry events in regions such as the Middle East, North America, and Asia.
• Champion best practice in SEO and content publishing standards.

Who We’re Looking For

• An experienced B2B publishing professional with at least 10–15 years in editorial roles.
• Strong leadership qualities with proven mentoring ability and team management skills.
• A confident, credible writer and editor who sets high standards and leads by example.
• Demonstrable career stability and commitment — someone who brings authority through experience.
• Comfortable representing publications at board level and in public forums.
• Knowledge of SEO in a publishing context.
• Experience in contributing to and chairing industry conferences or exhibitions is highly desirable.
