Box Office Manager
International museum-grade exhibition landing in London
This is a commercially minded box office leadership role for a major, ticketed exhibition launching in London. You’ll own the day-to-day ticketing operation on site and play a central role in driving sales performance, managing capacity, and keeping the customer experience smooth from purchase through entry.
You’ll be joining a global operator behind large-scale, ticketed visitor experiences. They deliver premium touring exhibitions in major cities and work closely with high-volume ticketing and marketing partners to drive footfall, protect the visitor journey, and improve commercial performance.
Responsibilities
Ticketing and sales management
- Act as the main day-to-day contact between the exhibition team and ticketing partner(s), joining regular sales and marketing check-ins
- Support set-up and execution of offers, discounts, promo codes, and sales initiatives
- Monitor ticket sales, capacity and attendance trends, then recommend actions to optimise revenue
- Support sales forecasting and reporting with marketing and finance
- Help manage ticket inventory and distribution across different channels/partners
Box office operations
- Oversee daily box office operations on site, keeping service standards high on peak days
- Manage rota planning and training so the team performs consistently
- Handle customer ticketing queries and escalations, resolving issues directly with the ticketing partner(s)
- Support admissions and visitor flow so entry stays smooth during busy periods
Stakeholder and venue liaison
- Coordinate ticket distribution and tracking via the venue’s community engagement programmes
- Manage complimentary ticket requests for press, VIPs and stakeholders, keeping controls and records tight
- Work closely with venue operations so the visitor journey is joined up end-to-end
Reporting and admin
- Produce regular sales and attendance reporting for internal stakeholders
- Track performance of promotions and campaigns and share clear learnings
- Maintain accurate records for comps, offers and ticket allocations
Qualifications
- 1–2+ years’ experience in box office, ticketing, or sales operations within exhibitions, attractions, live events, or visitor experiences
- Comfortable managing third-party ticketing partners and ticket inventory, plus customer issues and escalations
- Strong Excel skills for reporting and performance tracking
- Experience at supervisor/manager level is preferred (or clearly operating at that level)
- Calm under pressure, organised, and quick to fix issues without drama
