Box Office Manager

International museum-grade exhibition landing in London

This is a commercially minded box office leadership role for a major, ticketed exhibition launching in London. You’ll own the day-to-day ticketing operation on site and play a central role in driving sales performance, managing capacity, and keeping the customer experience smooth from purchase through entry.

You’ll be joining a global operator behind large-scale, ticketed visitor experiences. They deliver premium touring exhibitions in major cities and work closely with high-volume ticketing and marketing partners to drive footfall, protect the visitor journey, and improve commercial performance.

Responsibilities

Ticketing and sales management

  • Act as the main day-to-day contact between the exhibition team and ticketing partner(s), joining regular sales and marketing check-ins
  • Support set-up and execution of offers, discounts, promo codes, and sales initiatives
  • Monitor ticket sales, capacity and attendance trends, then recommend actions to optimise revenue
  • Support sales forecasting and reporting with marketing and finance
  • Help manage ticket inventory and distribution across different channels/partners

Box office operations

  • Oversee daily box office operations on site, keeping service standards high on peak days
  • Manage rota planning and training so the team performs consistently
  • Handle customer ticketing queries and escalations, resolving issues directly with the ticketing partner(s)
  • Support admissions and visitor flow so entry stays smooth during busy periods

Stakeholder and venue liaison

  • Coordinate ticket distribution and tracking via the venue’s community engagement programmes
  • Manage complimentary ticket requests for press, VIPs and stakeholders, keeping controls and records tight
  • Work closely with venue operations so the visitor journey is joined up end-to-end

Reporting and admin

  • Produce regular sales and attendance reporting for internal stakeholders
  • Track performance of promotions and campaigns and share clear learnings
  • Maintain accurate records for comps, offers and ticket allocations

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years’ experience in box office, ticketing, or sales operations within exhibitions, attractions, live events, or visitor experiences
  • Comfortable managing third-party ticketing partners and ticket inventory, plus customer issues and escalations
  • Strong Excel skills for reporting and performance tracking
  • Experience at supervisor/manager level is preferred (or clearly operating at that level)
  • Calm under pressure, organised, and quick to fix issues without drama
