Budget Director + Education + Rural Nebraska

Our client is looking for a collaborative, detail-savvy finance professional to step into a key role where your insights will directly impact students, leadership, and the broader campus community. What You’ll Tackle:

• Partner with college leadership to guide budget planning, forecasting, and analysis
• Own the creation and maintenance of annual budgets, long-range projections, and grant reporting
• Help resurrect and lead regular budget manager meetings to create consistency across fiscal cycles
• Bring budget reporting and reconciliation processes into sharper focus
• Collaborate across departments to drive transparency and smarter financial decision-making
• Assist with payroll verification, audit preparation, and select monthly entries
• Contribute to special projects that enhance the college’s operational strength

What Will Help You Succeed:

• A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field (required)
• Proven experience with budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work full-time on campus with a creative, flexible schedule (e.g., 4x9s + half-day Fridays)
• Sharp attention to detail, great communication skills, and the ability to work independently
• Ability to communicate specific financial details

Bonus Points For:

• MBA or experience with SAP
• Prior work in educational funding, government, or higher ed settings
• Familiarity with grant budgets and fund accounting
• Confidence navigating cross-functional partnerships and financial reporting
