Accountant + Debits & Credits + Omaha Metro

Join a values-first nonprofit that’s changing lives — and bring your accounting expertise to a team that values people. This is more than just a numbers role; it’s a chance to support life-changing work while growing your own career in a collaborative, emotionally intelligent environment.

Our client is looking for a sharp, detail-loving Accountant to support financial operations for a thriving organization. You'll play a key role in helping ensure financial accuracy and integrity across the board, while working closely with leaders who appreciate strong ideas and smart collaboration.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll be the go-to for day-to-day accounting operations, financial data analysis, reconciliations, and monthly close support. Your work will directly support leadership decision-making, audit readiness, and ongoing budgeting and forecasting. You’ll also help with payroll processing and assist in preparing income statements and balance sheets.

You’ll thrive there if you:

  • Love GAAP and know your debits from your credits (and can explain why it matters)
  • Are energized by work that supports a greater mission
  • Appreciate a workplace that prioritizes relationships and respects input at every level
  • Have a strong understanding of how financials support strategic goals
  • Can confidently dive into general ledger functions and reconciliations
  • Are happy to ask questions, solve problems, and learn new systems

Must-Haves:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting (Associate’s considered with strong experience)
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Comfort with income statements, balance sheets, and journal entries
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups)

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or human services settings
  • Exposure to Medicaid, Medicare, or federal grant funding
  • High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a can-do, collaborative attitude

You’ll be a respected partner in a supportive, mission-based environment — one where professional growth, honesty, and open communication are part of the culture, not just buzzwords.
