Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support the organization’s accounting operations and financial reporting functions. This role plays a key leadership part in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, overseeing the financial close process, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal controls.


The Assistant Controller will partner closely with senior finance leadership to deliver accurate and timely financial information, strengthen accounting processes, and support business decision-making. This position requires strong technical expertise, analytical capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting timelines.
  • Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and maintenance of the chart of accounts.
  • Prepare and review internal financial statements and supporting analyses for management and leadership teams.
  • Establish, document, and maintain effective internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support external audits and other compliance reviews by coordinating documentation and responding to inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and mentorship to members of the accounting team.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive leadership to support strategic initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Several years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Experience managing general ledger systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.
  • CPA or other relevant professional certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
