Job Title: Senior Statutory Accountant

Location: Bridgewater

Position Overview:

As a Senior Statutory Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with statutory reporting requirements and maintaining accurate financial records. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing statutory accounting processes, preparing financial statements, and liaising with external auditors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather necessary financial data and ensure accuracy and completeness of information.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analyses of financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during the audit process and address any inquiries or requests for information.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and recommend process improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Provide support to other members of the finance team and assist in ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on statutory reporting and financial statement preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
