Job Title: Vehicle Service Contract Claims Director

Location: Louisiana


Position Summary


A well established automotive warranty provider is seeking a strategic and results driven Vehicle Service Contract (VSC) Claims Director to lead and oversee all aspects of VSC claims operations. This role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, cost control, vendor performance, and exceptional dealer and customer service experiences across a vehicle service contract portfolio.

The Claims Director will play a key leadership role in shaping claims strategy, optimizing processes, implementing technology solutions, and supporting continued growth across Louisiana and the Southeastern United States.



Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Strategy

• Develop and execute the strategic vision for the VSC claims department.

• Lead, mentor, and manage claims managers, adjusters, and support staff.

• Establish performance metrics, KPIs, and service standards aligned with company objectives.

• Collaborate with executive leadership to support underwriting, reinsurance, and product development initiatives.


Claims Operations

• Oversee end to end adjudication of vehicle service contract claims including mechanical breakdown related coverages.

• Ensure accurate and timely claim determinations consistent with contract terms and regulatory requirements.

• Monitor loss trends and cost containment initiatives.

• Implement fraud detection and risk mitigation protocols.


Vendor and Dealer Relations

• Manage third party administrators if applicable, repair networks, inspectors, and parts vendors.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with automotive dealers.

• Oversee dispute resolution and escalated claim matters.


Compliance and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with applicable insurance regulations and state and federal laws.

• Maintain audit readiness and assist in internal and external compliance reviews.

• Develop and enforce internal claims policies and procedural guidelines.

• Monitor loss ratios, claim severity trends, and expense management.

• Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost savings.


Technology and Process Improvement

• Evaluate and implement claims management systems and automation tools.

• Drive data analytics initiatives to improve decision making and service levels.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows and enhance service quality.



Qualifications


Required

• 5+ years of progressive claims leadership experience preferably within vehicle service contracts, extended warranties, or automotive related insurance.

• Demonstrated experience managing multi level teams.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical claims adjudication and automotive repair processes.

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing insurance and service contracts.

• Proven ability to manage loss ratios and operational budgets.


Preferred

• Experience working with automotive dealerships or dealer affiliated programs.

• Experience with claims system implementation or modernization projects.
