Job Title: Commissioning Coordinator
Location: Chester
Contract: 6 Months (Outside IR35)
Role Overview
H9 Talent Solutions are seeking an experienced Commissioning Coordinator with a strong background in electrical systems to support the commissioning of a power generation project. The successful candidate will lead the planning, execution, and supervision of commissioning activities across HV, MV, and LV systems, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement commissioning plans and procedures for HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
- Contribute to the overall plant commissioning plan and the development of the HSE commissioning strategy.
- Identify required utilities, spares, and consumables for the commissioning process.
- Act as the primary interface with the client, OEMs, and contractors for all electrical commissioning matters.
- Conduct site walkdowns to verify installation readiness before and during commissioning.
- Oversee and coordinate electrical testing and troubleshooting during commissioning.
- Supervise site commissioning teams and ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with the project HSE plan, Quality plan, and Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Manage commissioning documentation, including progress reporting and as-built records.
- Provide technical support and advice to the wider project team.
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in electrical system commissioning within power generation or power distribution projects.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Strong knowledge of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems, including design, operation, maintenance, and commissioning.
- Experience with gas turbine-based power generation plants preferred.
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate site teams effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work to project goals, deadlines, and milestones under pressure.
