Our client is a well-established and growing organisation with ambitious expansion plans, including the development of new business divisions and sites. Due to growth, they are looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant to support their finance function.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely entry into the system
  • Supporting the accounts payable function, including matching, batching and coding invoices
  • Assisting with supplier payments and resolving any invoice or payment queries
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring documentation is up to date
  • Supporting bank reconciliations and assisting with daily cash allocation
  • Processing time sheets for payroll
  • Assisting with sales ledger duties where required, including raising invoices and credit notes
  • Monitoring accounts inboxes and responding to internal and external finance queries
  • Supporting month-end processes, including reporting and reconciliation tasks
  • Liaising with internal departments to ensure financial information is accurate and complete
  • Assisting with general finance administration to support the wider accounts team


Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within an accounts/ finance based role within a commercial finance environment such as manufacturing/ logistics/ engineering etc.
  • You must have experience of processing invoices, reconciliation and handling customer invoicing enquiries
  • Experience of entering financial data for reporting
  • Good understanding of accounts payable and general finance processes
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Competent using Microsoft Excel and finance systems
