Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled LabWare Administrator / Engineer to support and enhance our LabWare LIMS infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring system uptime, configuration, user support, and regulatory readiness for our scientific and operational teams. The ideal candidate has both administrative and development experience with LabWare and is comfortable working in a regulated IT environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize LabWare LIMS/LES environments across development, test, and production instances.
  • Design and implement new LabWare modules, workflows, templates, and user roles based on business requirements.
  • Develop, test, and deploy custom LabWare configurations using LIMS Basic, Visual Workflows, and system scripting tools.
  • Coordinate and execute upgrades, patches, and hotfixes in collaboration with IT infrastructure and application support teams.
  • Provide Tier-3 support for LabWare-related incidents; resolve issues affecting system performance or lab operations.
  • Manage documentation for change control, configuration specs, validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), and release notes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, GxP) through rigorous validation and documentation practices.
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to ensure server health (Tomcat), database performance (Oracle/SQL), and network stability.
  • Support training, onboarding, and user adoption initiatives for scientists, QC analysts, and business stakeholders.


Required Qualifications

  • 3–6+ years hands-on experience in LabWare LIMS/LES administration and development.
  • LabWare Certification in Administration and/or Development (preferred).
  • Experience in scripting/configuring LabWare workflows and modules.
  • Strong understanding of Tomcat administration and network/system support for enterprise-level applications.
  • Proficient in system validation and documentation practices under GAMP5, 21 CFR Part 11, and other quality system regulations.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with teams across time zones.
  • Strong IT acumen including working knowledge of SDLC, ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow), and change management processes.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting LabWare in pharma, biotech, manufacturing, or regulated lab environments.
  • Prior experience in scripting, database management, or integration (e.g., SQL, Oracle, REST APIs).
  • Familiarity with tools like Crystal Reports or other reporting solutions.
  • Located in or near Houston, TX or within the Central Time Zone (CDT).
