Job Overview
The Senior Communications Engineer will lead the design and project management of integrated systems within the company's communications infrastructure. This includes implementing solutions across wireless, voice, SCADA, badge access, satellite, microwave, CCTV, and data networks. The role involves overseeing contract personnel, coordinating with third-party vendors, and ensuring the quality of deployed systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design integrated communications systems using technologies such as wireless, voice, SCADA, badge access, satellite, microwave, CCTV, and data networks
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and develop tailored communications solutions
- Manage end-to-end deployment of communications projects
- Coordinate with external contractors for installations and troubleshooting
- Monitor and maintain project budgets
- Provide advanced technical support to field communications technicians
- Research emerging technologies for potential implementation
- Contribute technical insights to communications-related contracts and agreements
- Administer FCC and FAA compliance for communications assets
- Develop and maintain technology standards documentation
- Support field technicians with complex issue resolution
- Travel up to 50%, including potential offshore assignments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering (required)
- PMP certification (preferred)
- FCC license and CCNA certification (a plus)
- Minimum 7 years of experience in at least three of the following areas: wireless, voice, SCADA, badge access, satellite, microwave, CCTV, and data networks
- Proven experience in system design, integration, and project management
- Proficiency in Visio or CAD for creating system diagrams
- Familiarity with communications path profile software and FCC ULS website (preferred)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with internal and external teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond to support requests
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Physically capable of lifting moderate weight and performing installation/testing tasks (kneeling, bending, twisting)
