Title: Accounting Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA area, onsite


Overview:

Our Client, a wholesale ISO with decades of experience specializing in cutting-edge payment solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager experienced in the bank card industry that will oversee and manage the financial operations of a company. The Accounting Manager will play a pivotal role in managing the daily financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting and bank card industry standards, and supporting the financial health of the organization. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Executive Team to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee wholesale ISO accounting processes (e.g., reconciling residuals from sponsor banks – interchange and card brand fees, daily balancing of merchant funding, ACH returns)
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Prepare reports for management, summarizing financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Reconcile multiple banks and other accounts
  • Oversee the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including creating audit and tax schedules.
  • Prepare journal and adjust entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Monitor budget variances and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation and reports are ready for review.
  • Calculate monthly commissions/residual and payout, in conjunction with technology
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the CEO and CFO.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 years or more of experience as an Accounting Manager in the bank card industry preferably in a wholesale ISO environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, Finance, – a master’s degree or CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, Card Brand rules, payment processing, merchant acquiring.
  • Experience with financial audits and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, MS Excel, Merchant Accounting System, and other accounting software’s
  •
