Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Work Control Planner 3 (Construction) opportunity in Los Alamos, NM to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

 

Per Diem:  Available for those who qualify

Citizenship: United States Citizenship is required

Work Location: 100% Onsite - TA 00-726, 800 Trinity Drive, Los Alamos, 2nd Blvd.

Driving: Required for walkdowns on various laboratory properties.

Organization/Group: CONSERV

Schedule: 4/10 schedule, Potential for OT

Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain DOE Q Clearance. Active clearance preferred.

 

Position Description:

Develops and/or reviews work packages including time, material, and labor estimates, written step-by-step work instructions, procedures, and/or safety and testing requirements for the implementation and control of operations, construction, maintenance, or modification of work activities within a given facility or area. Read drawings schematics, perform site walk downs, and manage integrated work documents. Specific planning duties may be related to mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, chemical and/or radiological equipment, policies, and procedures and may also include resolving work restraints and bringing work packages to final closure.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Electrical, mechanical, or civil engineer experience.

·       Nuclear, chemical, or oil industry experience and/or a background in construction/infrastructure is preferred.

  • Experience with construction documents, reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Ability to conceptually communicate major elements to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to fully understand work hazards, safety practices, operating configuration, and lock-out/tag-out policies and procedures.
  • Experience interpreting various mechanical and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting work control and planning.
  • Knowledge of work control and facility policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to conceptually communicate major elements to both technical and non-technical personnel.

 

Planning & Prioritization:

  • Working knowledge of and experience with work control, materials management, construction and/or various maintenance disciplines.
  • Experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting work control and planning.
  • Ability to fully conceptualize and communicate major elements of work control and planning to both technical and non-technical personnel.

 

Technology:

  • Ability to utilize and manipulate a computerized work management system in maintaining and tracking work planning activities.
  • Skill in the preparation and presentation of work control reports.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word.
  • Working experience and/or knowledge with Asset Suites and Mobile Work Package (MWP).

 

Other Job Requirements:

·       Ability to perform site walk downs.
