Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Cable Technology and Services Engineer opportunity in Knoxville, TN.

 

JOB OVERVIEW:

This position will work with a nuclear engineering consulting firm that provides products and services to measure instrumentation and control system performance in nuclear power plants worldwide.

 

As an engineer working in the Cable Technology and Services Group, you will be responsible for performing tests and assessing the health of electrical cables using proprietary Company software and analysis techniques. You will also work with the engineering team to support commercial and research projects related to understanding the health and condition of cables installed in nuclear power plants.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform various electrical and material property tests and analyze data from various nuclear plant systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers to solve problems.
  • Prepare clear reports and presentations for internal teams and customers.
  • Follow quality assurance processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Travel 6 to 12 times per year for an average 4-day duration per trip to perform testing at national and international nuclear power plants.

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and problem solving.
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry, polymer science, I&C, power systems and technical writing is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, able to follow structured processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team player who can collaborate with technical and field personnel.
