Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Manager opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

 

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager to lead quality assurance activities for an industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear industry. This role is responsible for developing and enforcing quality systems, managing audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with NQA-1, DOE, and NRC standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulated manufacturing environments and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams in pursuit of quality excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in compliance with NQA-1 and nuclear regulatory requirements
  • Lead internal and external audits, including DOE/NRC inspections and customer assessments
  • Oversee quality control processes, inspection protocols, and documentation practices across manufacturing operations
  • Manage non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure product and process quality
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure traceability and documentation of nuclear-grade materials and components
  • Train and mentor quality personnel and production staff on quality standards and procedures
  • Support supplier qualification and performance monitoring
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior leadership and regulatory bodies

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in the nuclear industry
  • 5+ years of quality management experience
  • Strong knowledge of NQA-1, ASME Section III, DOE, and NRC regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting DOE or NRC-regulated projects
  • Proven leadership and team management skills in a high-compliance environment
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related technical field
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and contamination control

 

Other Job Requirements:

  • United States Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Security clearance. Active clearance is a plus.
