We are currently seeking a Business Development & Sales Specialist for a national Healthcare Association. This role is hybrid, full-time, and based in Bethesda, MD.


Position Details

  • Pay: $45-50/hour
  • Location: Bethesda, MD (Hybrid; 3 days in office)
  • Position Title: Business Development & Sales Specialist
  • Schedule: Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
  • Duration: 6-month assignment
  • Reports To: Chief Development Officer

This position serves as the primary growth driver for the organization’s Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) and Corporate Membership programs. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this role focuses on identifying, engaging, and converting prospective partners using a streamlined contracting process. The ideal candidate is results-oriented, entrepreneurial, and thrives in a relationship-driven sales environment.


Our Ideal Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, business development, or partnerships
  • Prior experience in healthcare, technology, or GPO environments preferred
  • Strong proficiency with CRM systems and sales/marketing tools (iMIS a plus)
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales targets and close high-value deals
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong time-management and attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a growth mindset and comfort working independently

How You Will Spend Your Day

  • Mine existing databases, corporate member lists, and exhibitor records to identify high-potential sales opportunities
  • Conduct targeted outreach to prospective partners to communicate the value of GPO participation and Corporate Membership
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle, from initial outreach through execution of standard vendor agreements
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders to prioritize leads, refine data, and ensure a smooth handoff from research to active solicitation
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, providing regular progress updates to leadership
  • Track activities and performance against established growth goals
  • Share market insights, vendor feedback, and competitive intelligence with senior leadership
  • Represent the organization professionally in all communications and interactions
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records within CRM and internal systems
