We are seeking a Temporary Full-Time Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist. This role supports internal teams and external partners, including universities and research agencies, to measure the impact of healthy aging, economic well-being, and aging services programs. This is a Hybrid, full-time, temporary role.

LOCATION: Virginia Hybrid (2 days in Office)

POSITION TITLE: Senior Staff Accountant

SCHEDULE: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm 

DURATION: Temporary - 3 Months

Pay- $30/hr - $35/hr


Is This Your Dream Job? The Senior Research and Evaluation Specialist supports research, evaluation, and data analysis efforts, contributing to the organization’s social impact goal of improving the lives of 40 million older adults by 2030. 


 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science or related field required; master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant research or evaluation experience, preferably in nonprofit or government settings
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods, survey design, and data cleaning
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, SPSS, Stata, R, or Python)
  • Familiarity with qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti, Dedoose)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate data for non-technical audiences
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and adaptable, with strong attention to detail and a curiosity for using data to inform public policy and advocacy
  • Experience with data management.
  • Proficiency with data collection and visualization tools (e.g., Qualtrics, Cumulus, Tableau).
  • Foundational knowledge of, or experience with, public benefits programs (e.g. SNAP, LIHEAP, MSP, LIS, and Medicaid)
  • Familiarity with issues affecting older adults in the United States is highly desirable.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Support the design and implementation of research and evaluation studies across the organization and with external research partners
  • Apply appropriate research methodologies and statistical techniques to assess program impact and service delivery
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
  • Design and administer surveys; coordinate focus groups, interviews, and listening sessions
  • Respond to internal and external data requests, including from federal and funding partners
  • Develop clear, accurate reports and data products (tables, visualizations, slide decks) for internal and external audiences
  • Create data visualizations using Tableau Public and other tools (e.g., Excel, R)
  • Support program data collection systems and quality assurance efforts
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the Research and Evaluation team as needed
