Technical Design Director

Salary $115-$135K

Location: Fort Lauderdale

We are hiring a Technical Design Director to lead the translation of creative concepts into precise, build-ready fabrication plans for complex experiential environments.

This is a key leadership role for someone who can bridge creative vision with physical execution while improving fabrication quality, efficiency, and technical standards.

What you’ll do:

• Lead technical execution strategy from concept through fabrication for experiential builds
• Define construction methods, material selections, and build systems across foam, CNC, hybrid, and carpentry solutions
• Create and maintain standardized technical drawing packages, fabrication documentation, templates, and workflows
• Optimize CNC and digital fabrication processes to improve precision, speed, and production efficiency
• Partner with Creative, Project Management, Sales, and Operations to ensure concepts are feasible and production-ready
• Mentor designers and production artists on technical execution, fabrication readiness, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to reduce material and labor costs while improving consistency and building quality

Ideal background:

• • Experience in event production, themed entertainment, scenic fabrication, exhibit or trade show fabrication, or experiential marketing builds
• • Strong knowledge of fabrication methods, materials, construction techniques, and building feasibility
• • Advanced understanding of CNC, digital fabrication, and production documentation workflows
• • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing technical design or creative production teams
• • Strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and committed to precision, quality, and continuous improvement
• • Comfortable working in fabrication, warehouse, shop floor, and production environments
