Position: President - Civil Construction

Location: Southern Massachusetts (Onsite: ~20 minutes outside of Boston)

Compensation: Low-to-Mid $300Ks OTE + Path to Equity

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a President to lead a highly profitable, $25M revenue civil and utility construction business serving state and municipal customers across Massachusetts. The company has a strong contracted backlog, a defensible competitive position, and long-standing customer relationships.

This is a hands-on, onsite leadership role with full P&L ownership and responsibility for operational execution, financial performance, and strategic growth. The incoming leader will work closely with ownership and the company’s founder, to ensure a smooth transition and support estimating and bidding efforts.

This opportunity is ideal for a disciplined, execution-oriented leader who thrives in complex operating environments and is ready to take full ownership of a market-leading civil construction business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own full P&L responsibility and overall business performance
  • Lead day-to-day operations across field execution, project management, estimating, safety, and administrative functions
  • Drive financial discipline, margin expansion, and cash flow optimization
  • Strengthen operational processes and performance metrics across crews and projects
  • Build and develop a high-performing leadership team
  • Partner with ownership on long-term strategy, growth initiatives, and capital allocation
  • Work closely with the Executive Chairman during the transition period to ensure continuity in customer relationships and backlog execution
  • Serve as the face of the organization with municipal and state stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in general management, operations, or business leadership—experience in construction services, civil infrastructure, utilities, or related industries preferred.
  • Proven P&L of ~$15M ownership and operational accountability
  • Strong operational, financial, and analytical skills.
  • Experience building and leading teams in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience leading teams in construction, civil infrastructure, utilities, or similarly complex field-based businesses strongly preferred

Why Join:

This is a rare opportunity to step into the President seat of an established, profitable business with a strong reputation and meaningful backlog. The incoming leader will have full operational ownership, the support of an experienced founder during transition, and a clear path to equity participation.

This role offers the chance to lead a market-critical infrastructure business, build long-term value, and directly shape the company’s next chapter of growth.
