Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Work-mode: Hybrid (3 days working from the office, 2 days from home)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Salary: Negotiable - depending on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage and organise all accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate recording of business transactions

• Oversee month-end and year-end closings, including consolidation processes

• Monitor cost allocation, intercompany billing, and ensure proper financial controls

• Prepare and submit accurate tax and regulatory reports in line with Bulgarian legislation

• Maintain proper documentation of accounting records in accordance with legal requirements

• Monitor petty cash and bank account activity, ensuring timely payments of obligations

• Lead budgeting and financial planning processes, including forecasting and variance analysis

• Analyse actual spending against budget and forecast, providing insights to management

• Liaise with tax authorities, auditors, banks, and external stakeholders

• Support internal and external audits, ensuring transparency and compliance

• Draft and sign statutory and internal financial reports, including statistical and company-specific documents

• Maintain accounting registers and documentation

• Assist in the preparation and improvement of internal policies, procedures, and workflows

• Provide oral and written financial reports as required by management

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls


Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial, accounting, or controlling role

• University degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting

• Solid knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

• Strong understanding of Bulgarian accounting and tax legislation

• Excellent written and spoken English and Bulgarian

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

• Analytical and detail-oriented mindset

• Strong organisational and coordination skills

• Professional and courteous communication with internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Initiative and problem-solving capabilities
