Position Summary:
We’re hiring a Construction Project Manager to oversee complex water and wastewater infrastructure projects across North Carolina. In this role, you’ll manage project planning, execution, and delivery—working with a collaborative team to bring treatment facilities, pump stations, and heavy civil structures to life.
This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented construction leader with experience managing WWTP or heavy civil projects. You’ll coordinate subcontractors, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering safe, high-quality work that makes a lasting impact on communities.

What You’ll Do
- Oversee full project lifecycle from planning through closeout for water/wastewater and heavy civil projects
- Develop project strategies, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with engineers and superintendents
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal teams to maintain progress and quality
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, permits, and safety regulations
- Respond to project delays, challenges, or field conditions with proactive solutions
- Track and control costs, prepare pay applications, and approve/reject vendor invoices
- Attend and lead job site meetings with owners, engineers, and field personnel
- Support site mobilization, logistics, and daily construction operations
- Maintain client relationships and deliver clear updates on project milestones
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience managing construction projects, with a focus on WWTP, sewer, or heavy civil infrastructure
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction documents, engineering plans, and specifications
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and scheduling skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in project management systems and tools
- Ability to travel to job sites across North Carolina (25%)
Preferred Experience
- Previous work with treatment facilities, pump stations, or heavy civil infrastructure
- Field experience managing site logistics, subcontractors, and inspections
- Familiarity with state/local environmental and construction regulations
