We are currently in search of a Content & Communications Specialist for a national nonprofit organization dedicated to education, cultural exchange, and community engagement. This is a temporary-to- permanent, full-time position based in New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan), with a hybrid work schedule.

SCHEDULE: Full-time- 40/hours per week- Hybrid- Tuesday-Thursday On-site, Monday & Friday WFH - 9am to 5pm
DURATION: Temporary to Permanent
PAY RANGE: $24-26/hour, anticipated salary of $50-56,000/year after conversion

The Content & Communications Specialist will create and manage compelling content across multiple channels to engage members, donors, and the broader community. This role involves storytelling, digital marketing, event promotion, and media outreach to enhance the organization’s visibility and impact. The ideal candidate is a proactive communicator with creativity, initiative, and a passion for mission-driven work.
Our Ideal Candidate:
· 2–4 years of experience in communications, marketing, or digital media—nonprofit experience a plus
· Strong storytelling and content creation abilities across formats and platforms
· Working knowledge of web design (WordPress, HTML, etc.)
· Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and email platforms (e.g., Constant Contact)
· Working Knowledge of graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) highly desirable
· Collaborative team player with a positive, proactive, and creative mindset
How You Will Spend Your Day:
· Write and design engaging content for newsletters, social media, websites, appeals, and donor communications
· Develop toolkits, talking points, and social media assets for national initiatives and branch campaigns
· Schedule and manage daily social media activity across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)
· Track engagement metrics and contribute to the development of digital strategy
· Maintain and update websites using WordPress
· Create and manage email campaigns, including invitations, appeals, and newsletters
· Design event materials, manage outreach, and post live updates during events
· Coordinate and produce Zoom webinars, including technical setup and post-event follow-up
· Research media contacts, pitch stories, and assist with press releases and media lists
