We are seeking a Part-Time Development Associate for a temporary-to-permanent role. The Development Associate supports the fundraising and donor relations efforts of the organization. This role is responsible for processing gifts, maintaining accurate donor records, producing acknowledgment letters, and assisting with donor communications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about supporting the mission of a community-based nonprofit.

This is a hybrid (two days in office), Part-Time, temporary-to-permanent role in Chicago, Illinois. 


ORGANIZATION: Youth Community Nonprofit

LOCATION: Evanston, Illinois

POSITION TITLE: Development Associate

SCHEDULE: 16-20 hours/week - 2 days in office

DURATION: Temporary to Permanent 

Pay- $25/hr- $30/hr

 Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or donor relations.
  • Experience with donor database systems such as Raiser’s Edge NXT, DonorPerfect, or ActiveNet preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on a team.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace.


How You Will Spend Your Day:

  • Accurately process and record all donations and pledges in the donor database.
  • Generate timely and personalized acknowledgment letters and receipts.
  • Maintain up-to-date donor and prospect information through consistent data entry and database management.
  • Support donor communications, including mailings, reports, and event follow-ups.
  • Assist with reporting, data cleanup, and donor segmentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to ensure accuracy and integrity of fundraising data.
