What’s Different About This Role?


This is a strategic leadership position, not just a management post. You'll set the department's strategy, manage its operational flow, and be the key point of contact for growing direct client business while supporting the wider delivery team. Your strong commercial/business awareness will be essential to maximizing revenue and ensuring success.


What You’ll Bring:


  • Substantial Venue Finding Experience: Deep knowledge of UK and international venues, ideally gained in an agency environment.
  • Proven Management Skills: Previous line management experience necessary to lead, motivate, and develop a team of Managers and Executives.
  • Commercial Acumen: A strong strategic and financial focus, capable of negotiating exceptional rates and ensuring all financial targets are met.
  • Operational Excellence: Strong process, procedural, and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail. You're a natural finisher/completer.
  • Autonomous & Driven: Self-motivated, comfortable making your own decisions, and able to thrive under pressure.
  • Essential: A full driving licence and car is required due to the office location.


What You’ll Do:


  • Department Leadership: Oversee all aspects of the Venue Sourcing department, including strategy input and the smooth running of operations.
  • Team & Brief Management: Lead your team, allocate client briefs, and ensure creative, accurate proposals are delivered within agreed SLAs.
  • Negotiation & Contracts: Apply excellent negotiating skills to secure best rates. Manage client and venue liaison, including site visits and contract finalisation.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure accurate cost sheets are produced and maintained, meticulously tracking all negotiated savings and revenue.
  • Industry & Marketing: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, build key venue relationships, and manage the company familiarisation trip process.
