Open Pit Chief Mine Engineer

·      Leading the open pit technical services and mine engineering team.

·      Overseeing short-, mid-, and long-range mine planning.

·      Managing pit design, haul road design, dump design, and production sequencing.

·      Coordinating drill & blast planning and operational execution.

·      Supporting safe and efficient open pit production operations.

·      Managing production reporting, reconciliation, and mine performance analysis.

·      Working closely with geology, survey, geotechnical, and operations departments.

·      Providing technical leadership, mentoring, and quality control for engineering deliverables.

·      Supporting budgeting, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.

·      Ensuring compliance with MSHA safety and environmental standards.

Common Qualifications



·      Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering.

·      Strong open pit mine planning experience.

·      Experience with Deswik, Vulcan, or similar mine planning software.

·      Leadership experience supervising engineers and technical staff.

·      Knowledge of drill & blast, pit optimization, scheduling, and production reporting.

·      Strong communication and operational coordination skills.
