District Partners has been engaged to identify a mission-driven and hands-on Executive Director to lead a behavioral health treatment center located in Elkton, MD. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader who thrives in a dynamic, patient-centered environment and is passionate about driving clinical excellence, community impact, and team development.

 

This Executive Director will oversee all aspects of clinic operations, from staff leadership and clinical quality to financial management and community outreach. You’ll lead a high-performing team, ensure the delivery of evidence-based care, and contribute to the strategic direction of the organization. This is more than a leadership role—it’s a chance to influence the health and wellness of the community.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Clinical & Administrative Operations: Oversee day-to-day clinic operations, staff supervision, and performance management while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Drive Clinical Quality & Compliance: Ensure delivery of evidence-based care, maintain regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CARF, Medicaid), and collaborate with medical and compliance leaders on continuous improvement
  • Manage Financial Performance: Own site-level budgeting and P&L responsibilities, monitor expenses, and identify growth opportunities in partnership with finance teams
  • Advance Strategic & Community Initiatives: Represent the organization locally, build external partnerships, and support patient outreach, census expansion, and new program development
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with corporate departments (HR, IT, finance, real estate) to implement strategic initiatives and align site operations with broader organizational goals

 

Required Experience:

  • Master’s degree in behavioral health or healthcare-related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology)
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health, substance use, or healthcare settings
  • Strong background in clinical operations, staff management, and financial accountability
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including CARF and Medicaid
  • Understanding of co-occurring disorders, treatment models, and community health trends
  • Clinical supervisory credentials (preferred)
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills

 

Total Compensation:

  • Competitive base salary starting at $90,000 (based on experience, education, licensure)
  • Quarterly bonus eligibility (up to 20%)
