District Partners is engaged on supporting a mission-focused organization headquartered in Washington, DC in their search for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days per week onsite at HQ.
This organization plays a pivotal role in protecting sensitive systems and supporting national-level initiatives. What You’ll Do:
- Lead end-to-end incident response: investigate, contain, remediate, and prevent recurrence
- Configure and secure AWS (IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, CloudTrail, etc.), plus Azure and M365
- Engineer and tune detections in SIEM platforms to identify threats early
- Perform proactive threat hunting and log analysis to uncover risks before they escalate
- Partner with IT leadership to execute remediation projects and compliance efforts aligned to NIST CSF
Preferred Background:
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with a strong focus on hands-on cloud security engineering
- Proven AWS configuration expertise—direct implementation and operations experience required
- Demonstrated incident response depth, with a record of managing and resolving real-world incidents
- Multi-cloud knowledge across AWS, Azure, and M365, including identity management
- Preferred certifications: CCSP, AWS Security, Azure Security
