Position Overview:

Our Los Angeles office is looking for an experienced electrical engineer to work alongside senior leadership to support a growing team and office.


You will work on a variety of projects, from large to small, providing a high level of technical leadership in electrical design. You will represent our client in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and other project team members. There is tremendous opportunity to grow within.




Role Responsibilities:

As a senior electrical engineer you will be knowledgeable of systems design and communicate design concepts via sketches and renderings. In your role you will:

  • Perform electrical power design for variety of projects to include but not limited to buildings and facilities, including hospitals, laboratories, high rise residential, hotel, educational facilities, office, media, and other commercial and institutional projects in compliance with National Electrical Codes and local municipality code updates
  • Make design recommendations and design decisions with little input from senior management; assign duties to staff working on projects; review designs from junior staff
  • Assist in the preparation of client proposals, basis-of-design descriptions, responses to client comments and other project-related documentation
  • Incorporate design changes using AutoCAD and Revit software
  • Perform service load calculations and short circuit studies
  • Perform design calculations for power and lighting systems
  • Select and specify equipment including switchboards, transformers, panelboards, generators, ATS equipment, UPS modules, and batter inverters
  • Design lighting control systems to requirements of individual state and local municipality energy codes
  • Meet project schedules and performing work with budgetary constraints
  • Attend meetings with architects, owners and building managers to discuss future or current projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering required; EIT and/or PE preferred


Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical engineering; field experience a plus
  • Expert knowledge of building codes and standards
  • Knowledge of engineering drafting standards, electrical engineering standards, and other trades
  • Demonstrable understanding of construction process and interpretation of construction drawings
  • Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
