SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:


The Senior CAD Technician will assist with the design development and plans production for civil engineering projects of varying size and complexity. They will be expected to provide innovative solutions to project issues utilizing current design standards and guideline as well as assist the Project Engineers/Designers, Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and Leadership in organizing and documenting the design process. The successful candidate shall be proficient with CAD design software required by client; able to read & interpret construction plans, design standards, guidelines, and client scope. The candidate will be required to work as a part of a team of technicians and engineers and assist in providing options for the resolution of design issues. The Senior CAD Technician will also be responsible for the review and assurance of company CAD Standards are being met, as well as the oversight of file organization and document checkouts. The ability to maintain a high level of productivity, review design for adherence to client expectations and standards, and willingness to obtain progressive experience and training on design process and specific design elements is key. Additional requirements include the ability to speak and write clearly and concisely and the possession of strong organizational skills. The “Client” for the Senior CAD Technician position is defined as any individual (internal or external to the company) who assigns them work. 


Primary Responsibilities:


• Utilization of CAD to prepare engineering documents and construction plans

• Performing data collection & data entry tasks

• Anticipating potential assignment issues and facilitating their resolution

• Maintaining a proficiency with CAD design software required by client

• Ability to read & interpret construction plans, design standards, guidelines, and client scope

• Continuous monitoring of progress of assignments and adherence to the published Production Schedule

• Continuous monitoring of the quality of tasks and assignments

• Deliberate review of completed tasks and assignments for adherence to Ingenium standards as well as client expectations and standards

• Aid any Ingenium staff member as needed to facilitate project, client, and corporate initiatives

• Management of Standards, Check-Out Procedures, and other communications related to document storage

• Assistance in Creation, Management, and Implementation of Ingenium’s CAD Standards


Requirements & Attributes:

• High School or Technical School Training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

• 2 -8 years relevant experience

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft correspondences and other communications quickly with minimum direction

• Keen attention to detail with ability to track and manage multiple tasks and assignments at one time

• Ability to act efficiently on last minute assignments and tasks • Proficiency with CAD, Civil 3D, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher, MS PowerPoint

• Ability to estimate time to complete assignments • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Ease in getting along with team members at all levels • Consistency and a high degree of quality in work and execution of deliverables and initiatives
