About the Role
We are hiring a Senior Plumbing Designer with 7–10 years of experience to support a major long-term project in Cleveland. The primary focus of this role is plumbing system design for large, complex facilities, supported by periodic site visits and construction administration to verify field conditions and maintain design integrity. This is a stable, technical position ideal for someone who enjoys detailed design work and applying that design in the field when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design of plumbing systems, including domestic water, sanitary, storm, medical gas (if applicable), and specialty systems for large-scale buildings such as hospitals, airports, and sports facilities.
- Create and develop plans, calculations, diagrams, specifications, and layout drawings using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, architectural, structural, and civil disciplines.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify conditions, document progress, and confirm installations match design intent.
- Support Construction Administration by reviewing submittals, issuing clarifications, responding to RFIs, and addressing field-driven design adjustments.
- Maintain accurate, organized project documentation and assist the engineering team throughout the 2.5-year project timeline.
Qualifications
- 7–10 years of plumbing design experience in consulting engineering or building systems design.
- Strong proficiency in plumbing layout, code compliance, and system sizing.
- Degree not required; significant real-world design experience is the primary qualification.
- CPD certification is a plus.
- Experience with large, complex buildings (healthcare, aviation, sports, institutional).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multi-discipline teams and communicate clearly with contractors during site visits.
