Director of Technology

Location: Remote (Pacific Time)

Pay: $150,000 - $203,000/year

Duration: Full-Time (Direct Hire)


About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Technology to oversee the company's IT operations, infrastructure, and security while aligning technology with business objectives. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the efficiency, security, and scalability of IT systems, managing IT staff, and driving technology-driven business growth. Achievement of objectives must include an overriding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility.


What you'll do:

Strategic Leadership

  • Partner with the VP and executive team to develop and execute a digital transformation roadmap aligned with corporate strategy
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on technology trends, AI, ERP modernization, and data analytics opportunities that enhance customer value and competitiveness
  • Define and lead the company's IT vision, architecture, and governance model to support innovation, agility, and integration across all business units
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year digital transformation roadmap aligned with business objectives, innovation priorities, and IT modernization goals
  • Serve as the primary advisor to leadership on technology opportunities, risks, and emerging trends, including cybersecurity and artificial intelligence governance


Technology & Infrastructure

  • Oversee the enterprise IT landscape, including ERP, CRM, MES, PLM, HRIS, and collaboration tools, ensuring reliability, scalability, and user satisfaction
  • Lead modernization efforts, including cloud migration, cybersecurity resilience, and automation initiatives across order taking, manufacturing, supply chain, and finance
  • Ensure robust business continuity, disaster recovery, and information security policies are in place
  • Serve as the organization's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), overseeing information security governance, risk assessment, and incident response planning
  • Implement a NIST-aligned cybersecurity framework and vendor risk management program to ensure compliance, data protection, and business resilience
  • Oversee hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, implementing zero-trust architecture and endpoint management for secure scalability


Data & Digital Transformation

  • Champion the development of an enterprise data strategy to drive insights, improve forecasting, and enable advanced analytics
  • Implement governance frameworks for data quality, access, and compliance
  • Integrate digital technologies into products, processes, and customer interfaces to enhance productivity and create new revenue opportunities


AI & Emerging Technology

  • Lead the development of an AI governance framework that ensures responsible deployment, data transparency, and alignment with ethical and privacy standards
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted decision-making, automation, and predictive analytics in alignment with the company's enterprise data strategy


Operational Excellence

  • Develop and manage the IT budget with a focus on ROI, cost control, and value creation
  • Implement best practices for IT project management, vendor management, and cybersecurity risk assessment
  • Ensure service delivery excellence through a customer-first approach to internal IT support and infrastructure reliability


Compliance & Business Continuity

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support validated systems and electronic records management
  • Expand compliance oversight to include vendor risk management, incident response testing, and alignment with NIST and ISO 27001 standards
  • Maintain up-to-date disaster recovery and business continuity plans, ensuring organizational readiness and resilience


Leadership & Culture

  • Build and lead a high-performing technology organization focused on innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Foster collaboration across business units to align IT initiatives with operational needs
  • Develop talent through mentoring, succession planning, and capability building in emerging technologies
  • Represent Ferrotec USA to external customers, internal factories, and suppliers


What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)
  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior executive capacity in a global manufacturing or industrial technology environment
  • Proven success leading ERP modernization, cloud transformation, and data analytics initiatives
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity, digital manufacturing, and enterprise integration
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic priorities into technology enablement


What sets you apart:

  • Experience with AI governance frameworks and responsible AI deployment
  • Advanced certifications in cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Track record of successful digital transformation in manufacturing environments
  • Experience implementing zero-trust architecture and NIST cybersecurity frameworks
