About the Student Minister

Our Student Minister leads the charge in reaching and discipling the next generation, from middle school through the college years. By designing engaging programs and fostering mentorship, they help students encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and find their place in the body of Christ. This role balances administrative excellence with a heart for ministry, ensuring every student is seen, supported, and challenged to live out the Gospel.

The Student Minister's responsibilities include:

  • Develop and lead in providing a vision for Student Ministry that collaborates with the vision of the Church. Evaluate progress of the vision a minimum of two times a year through surveys given to students, parents and volunteer leadership.
  • Recruit, enlist, train, and develop volunteer leadership in the Student Ministry.
  • Serve as a resource person for volunteer leadership concerning teaching materials, media, and available ministry tools. Aid in securing resources for the Student Ministry as needed.
  • Work with Grade Teachers and Leaders to minister to the needs of every teenager on our Sunday School Roll, plus each visitor, and prospective member.
  • Lead out in helping parents disciple their students.
  • Lead in the development/coordination of an evangelistic outreach ministry at all times.
  • Coordinate the planning, and implementation of ministry experiences to provide students and families an avenue to be Ministers of the Gospel.
  • Work with student staff members to establish a team and to establish accountability for how the team will model Jesus Christ.
  • Prepare, submit and administer the budget for the Student Ministry.
  • Be the staff administrative director of college ministry planning by working with a volunteer team to carry out the college ministry.
  • Support the ongoing ministry of the church and lead by example through faithfulness in tithing and worship attendance.
  • Develop personal spiritual growth through a regular program of prayer and Bible study.
  • Accept any other responsibilities assigned by the Business Administrator and the Pastor.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3 to 5 years of ministry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills.  
  • Adequate interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.

Personal Characteristics and Qualifications

  • Exceptional with people.
  • The heart of a shepherd.
  • Must be a baptized Christian specifically recognized by the Church and be in agreement with the accepted theological doctrines of the Church.
