Position: HR Business Partner


Location: Los Angeles, CA (Office-based, 4 days/week)

Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer


District Partners has teamed up with a leading, nationally recognized wealth management firm to recruit a dynamic HR Business Partner for their Los Angeles office. In this pivotal role, you’ll act as a strategic partner to business leaders, delivering hands‑on HR solutions that drive organizational performance, talent development, and employee engagement across a high-growth environment.


Under the leadership of the Chief HR Officer (CHRO), the Sr. HR Business Partner executes our clients people initiatives and projects, delivers great internal client support, and drives HR functional excellence and process improvement. HR practice areas for this role include, program management, onboarding, policy interpretation, organizational development (OD), change management, and HR metrics and best practices.


The Sr. HR Business Partner applies their business knowledge and HR expertise to contribute at both hands-on and strategic levels to cultivate an amazing and innovative culture and positive work environment that will inspire and enable our employees to be their best to support our clients and the families we serve. 


Responsibilities:

  • Develops, oversees, manages, and delivers holistic HR services and programs, including staff planning, retention, onboarding, performance management, organizational and change management, and employee engagement.
  • Brings a design led thinking mindset to build and own talent solutions; leverages process and project management capabilities to deploy efficient and programmatic solutions.
  • Effectively manages complex HR programs; drives HR initiatives from start to finish (inception to plan/program/process design through execution of the timeline) and ensures firm-wide HR programs, procedures, and policies are successfully implemented.
  • Coaches and challenges leaders to develop and enhance their personal leadership style and performance to improve business results.
  • Coordinates firm-wide projects (restructuring, reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, etc…) by sharing information within the HR organization, guiding leaders on the best approach and timelines, liaising with stakeholders, and providing overall support throughout the whole process to ensure a successful completion.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with managers, team leaders, and key stakeholder to ensure achievement of firm-wide HR strategy and goals; acts as a thought partner and helps to connect the dots with key stakeholders.
  • Effectively builds relationships across the firm; proven track record of building collaborative partnerships as the basis to influence and drive change.
  • Strong consulting skills; able to dissect root cause or core problem to solve and bring together appropriate solutions and resources; deep talent mindset coupled with practical experience in driving leader development.
  • Owns the firm’s position control processes, including all job descriptions and new hire onboarding processes; develops job-specific onboarding plans in partnership with Training and Development.
  • Actively engages as a member of the HR team in HR research, project support, reporting/analytics, and championing HR initiatives. Identifies opportunities and positively influences and develops, implements, and monitors programs and practices to help improve the employee experience (e.g., employee engagement, employee recognition, etc.).
  • Analyzes employee data and makes recommendations for ongoing actions and continuous improvement.
  • Researches and analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies; distills this information and explains it to others.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Human Resource Management degree a plus.
  • 10+ years’ experience as HR Generalist/HR Business Partner.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading HR programs, and Change Management practices (ADKAR a plus)
  • Experience in an RIA/Investment Management Firm or other type of Financial Services firm a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis and design, leadership coaching, succession planning, top talent development strategies, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience with an HRIS and other HR tools and approaches (performance management, development planning, reporting and analytics, etc.). Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now platform a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). 
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential a plus.

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the firm’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
