Data Visualization Analyst (SME) - (US Citizen)

District Partners has been exclusively engaged to identify a SME Data Visualization Analyst for a federal contractor driving a multi-year digital transformation program in support of U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll lead advanced analytics and visualization efforts that directly impact national trade and travel security.


This role is hybrid with a mandatory 2–3 days per week onsite in Ashburn, VA. Candidates must be fully comfortable with this schedule; no exceptions.


This five-year modernization initiative is transforming how federal agencies leverage data at scale. You’ll work with massive datasets tied to millions of daily transactions, applying cloud, analytics, and visualization tools to detect patterns, assess risks, and deliver mission-critical insights. With long-term program stability, this role blends technical challenge with meaningful impact.


What You’ll Do:

  • Engineer scalable pipelines in Python and Databricks to power analytics and AI/ML
  • Develop dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik that inform decision-making
  • Apply advanced SQL to extract, transform, and model complex datasets
  • Conduct exploratory analysis (pattern recognition, clustering, entity resolution) to surface risk signals
  • Mentor analysts and set visualization/engineering best practices
  • Communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences


Required Experience:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (preferred) or related field
  • 10 –15+ years of analytics/visualization experience
  • Expert SQL and strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn a plus)
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS/cloud platforms
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring analytics teams


Terms:

  • 1-year contract with planned conversion to direct hire
  • Long-term work expected (multi-year program already underway)


Clearance Requirement:

Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain DHS suitability clearance.
