Landscape Architect / Project Manager Job Opening

My client is an award-winning landscape architecture and civil engineering firm located in Cary, NC is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Landscape Architect Project Manager. The candidate will get to work on public sector projects including K-12 and higher education campuses, various civic/community service facilities and parks.

The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of site design experience with the ability to manage multiple site design projects concurrently. Projects are deadline driven. The ability to work as part of a team while also having plenty of your own initiative is extremely important.

Desired Qualifications:

§ Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture, or a related field from an accredited College/University.

§ Five to ten years of experience in the landscape architecture or civil engineering industry.

§ Project management experience.

§ Experience or knowledge of SketchUp, Civil 3D, and Adobe Creative Suite software.

§ Excellent written and oral communication skills.

§ Highly motivated to successfully interact with clients and team members.

§ Knowledge of site design principles.

§ Must be able to pass a background check and be legally able to work in the United States of America.

§ Must have a valid Driver's License.

§ Must have received the COVID-19 vaccine.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform a variety of design functions related to landscape architecture and civil engineering, including:

§ Perform survey and drafting operations, including redline mark-ups, as related to site design.

§ Research and compile records and field data for the preparation of construction plans; develops and drafts engineering plans and drawings; develop permit applications and generate correspondence.

§ Prepare complex site design drawings for public sector civil engineering and landscape architecture projects.

§ Maintain active communication with contractors, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, government agencies, and the general public for any engineering, surveying or construction issues.

§ Perform routine AutoCAD and computer software maintenance and troubleshooting; maintain updated working and technical knowledge of all enhancements and procedural changes to software and hardware applications.

§ Perform other related duties as directed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

§ Ability to understand and follow highly complex written and oral instructions.

§ Enhanced knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and landscape architecture.

§ Knowledge of current codes and regulatory standards governing the state’s building construction industry as they relate to CAD drafting.

§ Skill in maintaining, updating, evaluating, and operating all AutoCAD software and equipment.

§ Ability to read, update, and maintain various records and files.

§ Ability to clearly communicate information both verbally and in writing.

§ Ability to operate basic office equipment, e.g., computer terminals, printers, copy machines, telephone systems, and facsimile machines.

§ Skill in operating various specialized software and office equipment, e.g., large format plotters, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite.

§ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel, management, contractors, consultants and the general public.
