We are currently searching for a temporary to hire Policy and Operations Associate for a Reproductive Justice Nonprofit. The position is full-time, temporary to hire, and hybrid-based in Washington, DC.

POSITION TITLE: Policy and Operations Associate

SCHEDULE: 32 hours/week (4-day work week)

DURATION: Temporary to hire

HOURLY PAY: $27.00-$30.00/hour; $68,000-$72,000/year

 

Is This Your Dream Job: The Policy and Operations Associate is a member of the Government Affairs team, reporting to the Director of Public Policy & Advocacy and supporting the full Government Affairs Division in research, administrative, scheduling and operations support, including developing and managing systems for tracking partnerships and legislative strategies across federal and state policy teams.

 

Our Ideal Candidate:


  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience in administrative and operations support; within a non-profit or social justice organization is a plus.
  • Experienced with Asana. Quorum and Excel are a bonus!
  • Excellent project management and operations skills, and the ability to manage detailed systems and processes that track progress on strategic and work plans.
  • Must have a commitment to the principles of Reproductive Justice and the empowerment of Black women, girls and gender expansive people.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to prioritize and meet deadlines as delineated by the Director of Policy and Advocacy.
  • Ability to quickly pivot and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Bring strong skills in scheduling, legislative tracking, budget tracking, and event logistics 

 

How You Will Spend Your Day:

 

  • Manage operational needs of the Government Affairs team related to the implementation of policy, advocacy, and partnerships work.
  • Provide scheduling and administrative support to the Government Affairs Team
  • Set and manage team meetings—including scheduling, calendaring, notes, and readouts
  • Support federal and state teams in legislative tracking through managing and auditing the processes and systems that teams should employ.
  • Liaise and coordinate with other organizational teams within the organization
  • Organize and manage processes for team reporting to the department lead
  • Ensure the platforms and processes for tracking relationships with elected officials, government staff and partners; ensure that both the federal and state sub-teams are up to date with tracking and reporting.
  • Oversee operational management of all Government Affairs team needs, including travel logistics, supplies, retreats and convenings. 
  • Track Government Affairs spending
  • Create and manage the official team calendar with internal strategic plan benchmarks, external key events and moments.
  • Conduct as-needed research, draft-writing, and document review to support the Director of Public Policy & Advocacy.
  • >10% Travel may be required
