Internal Medicine Physician – Residency Program Director – Chicago, IL
Description:
- Seeking a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician to join the faculty team for an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine Residency Program in South side of Chicago
- Provide clinical oversight for residents at an outpatient ambulatory clinic
- Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty in resident education and program development
- Opportunity to combine teaching responsibilities with a part-time faculty outpatient practice
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise up to four residents per clinic session in patient care delivery
- Educate learners on pathophysiology, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and patient risk mitigation
- Support residents in achieving ACGME core competencies and preparation for certifying exams
- Participate in didactic education, journal clubs, case presentations, and curriculum development
- Serve as a faculty mentor, evaluating and providing feedback to learners
- Engage in scholarly activities and quality improvement initiatives
- Contribute to administrative and committee meetings including Clinical Competency Committee
- Provide comprehensive primary care for a patient panel
Candidate Requirements:
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- Experience in education and training of medical students, residents, or fellows
- Demonstrated scholarly activity and curriculum development skills
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Commitment to resident mentorship and advancing internal medicine education
Compensation & Benefits:
- Annual salary range: $261,543 – $300,000
- Income guarantee with bonus incentives
