Psychologist (Correctional Medicine) – Southern California
Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological evaluations and assessments based on clinical interviews and records review
- Develop and modify individual treatment plans based on diagnosis and functional needs
- Provide evidence-based therapy, crisis intervention, and behavioral health support to incarcerated individuals
- Perform regular mental health rounds, including in segregation and restricted housing units
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other staff to ensure integrated, coordinated patient care
- Address acute psychological needs and support de-escalation of high-risk behaviors
- Maintain thorough documentation and comply with applicable clinical and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Psychology from an accredited institution
- Active, unrestricted license to practice psychology in California
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including at least 1 year in a correctional, institutional, or comparable setting
- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and crisis management skills
- Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment within a secure facility
